Do You Know Your All-Inclusive?

When you hear “all-inclusive vacation,” do you picture a Caribbean beach, a swim-up bar and unlimited food and drinks?
That's certainly one version....but all-inclusive travel comes in many forms.
And knowing the difference can help you choose a vacation that actually fits the way you like to travel.
🏝️ The Classic Caribbean All-Inclusive
Think Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Mexico and the Caribbean.
Your package may include your accommodations, meals, snacks, drinks, entertainment, pools, beach access and selected resort activities.
But don't assume everything is included. Premium alcohol, spa treatments, certain restaurants, excursions, motorized water sports and other extras may cost more depending on the property. All Inclusive Resorts
🇪🇺 European All-Inclusive
Here's one that might surprise you.
Europe has plenty of all-inclusive resorts, particularly in destinations such as Greece, Spain and Turkey. All-Inclusive Guide
These can look quite different from the typical Caribbean resort experience. Depending on the property, packages can include meals and drinks, entertainment, activities and sometimes additional experiences or upgraded dining.
And here's something important: a European vacation package isn't necessarily the same thing as an all-inclusive resort.
A European tour package might bundle your hotels, transportation between destinations, selected meals, sightseeing and guided experiences, while international airfare or some personal expenses remain separate.
👨👩👧👦 Family All-Inclusive
Some resorts are designed specifically with families in mind.
In addition to meals and drinks, you may find:
Kids' clubs
Children's pools
Water parks
Organized activities
Family entertainment
Sports and recreation
Some properties include many of these in the package, while others charge separately for certain activities.
💎 Adults-Only & Luxury All-Inclusive
This is where “all-inclusive” can take a very different turn.
Some upscale properties may include premium dining, higher-end beverages, room service, upgraded amenities, entertainment and even experiences that would normally cost extra at other resorts.
But here's the catch: the word all-inclusive doesn't automatically tell you how luxurious the inclusions are.
Two resorts can both advertise themselves as all-inclusive and offer very different experiences. All-Inclusive Guide
🏌️♀️ And Then There's the Specialty Vacation
Golf? Fishing? Romance? Wellness? Adventure?
There are all-inclusive packages built around specific interests, too.
For example, a golf package might combine your resort stay with selected rounds of golf, while other packages may focus on spa experiences, water sports or other activities.
The vacation can be built around what YOU enjoy.
💡 The Most Important Thing to Know
“All-inclusive” is not a universal checklist.
Before booking, find out exactly what your package includes.
Ask about:
✔️ Meals and snacks✔️ Alcohol and beverages✔️ Specialty restaurants✔️ Airport transfers✔️ Resort activities✔️ Excursions✔️ Wi-Fi✔️ Gratuities✔️ Resort or destination fees
Because sometimes the vacation that looks like the better deal isn't actually the better value once you add everything you want to do.
✈️ Bimini Travel Concierge Tip
Don't ask:
“Is it all-inclusive?”
Ask:
“What's included in this all-inclusive?”
That's a much better question.
Inclusions vary by property and package and can change, so always check the current details before booking.
